Powering Wisconsin’s Future

For far too long, energy production and environmental stewardship have been treated as competing goals. I reject that premise. Wisconsin can power a growing economy while protecting our air, water, and land for future generations.

That means pursuing an all-of-the-above energy strategy, using every reliable and affordable tool available and investing in modern technology to cut emissions without raising costs on families and employers. Nuclear energy must be part of that mix.

Today’s nuclear power is safe, dependable, and carbon-free. It provides electricity twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, without the emissions that come from so many other sources. A small amount of uranium can produce an enormous amount of energy, making nuclear one of the most efficient ways to meet our state’s needs while keeping the environment clean.

Renewables also have an important role to play. But Wisconsin should not have to choose between clean energy and productive farmland. We can expand renewables in smart locations while preserving our family farms and rural way of life.

An all-of-the-above approach is the fastest, most practical way to secure Wisconsin’s energy future, strengthening our economy, lowering emissions, and making sure our state continues to be a great place to live and work.
